The theatre is run a small team of dedicated volunteers so all opportunities offered are on a voluntary basis. PART-TIME FUNDING OFFICER We are looking for a part-time Funding Officer to join our small team of volunteers to work closely with our Theatre Manager to research and apply to trusts and foundations for grants towards project costs. Previous experience of writing funding applications would be an advantageous but not essential. If you have an interest in administration, particularly in funding, and are passionate about the arts we would love to hear from you. Ideally you will be able to offer a minimum of 1 day a week and be able to work at the theatre in central Romford, however we would also consider people who wish to work from home. PART-TIME MARKETING ASSISTANT We are looking for a part-time Marketing Assistant to join our small team of volunteers assisting with online marketing and social media. Main duties will be assisting with posting upcoming events at the theatre to online event sites as well as using social media sites to raise awareness of the theatre and events. Experience with social media sites (Facebook, Twitter etc.) would be advantageous but not essential. If you have an interest in administration, particularly in marketing, and are passionate about the arts we would love to hear from you. Ideally you will be able to offer a minimum of 1 day a week and be able to work at the theatre in central Romford, however we would also consider people who wish to work from home. PART-TIME CLEANER We are looking for a part-time cleaner to join our small team of volunteers to assist us in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the theatre. Duties will include: Vacuum, sweeping and Mopping Dusting and wiping surfaces e.g. tables, window sills, etc. Cleaning public toilets Cleaning dressing rooms Cleaning kitchen area Cleaning glass panels, external doors and reception area Rotational deep clean of specified areas Previous cleaning experience (commercial or domestic) is preferred but not essential. If you can commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week (day / hours to suit individual) we would love to hear from you. PART-TIME GARDENER Do you have a passion for gardening? Would you like to flex those green fingers? We are looking for volunteer gardeners to assist in the maintenance of the gardens and grounds at the theatre; this will involve weeding, pruning, planting bulbs etc. plus general upkeep/maintenance. Some experience in gardening is preferred. Experience of using garden equipment (strimmers etc) would be advantageous but not essential. Whether you can help out occasionally or on a more regular basis (especially in the spring & summer) we would love to hear from you. PART-TIME LEAFLET DISTRIBUTORS We are looking for reliable, self-motivated people who are happy to spare some time to distribute theatre leaflets, brochures & posters in around Romford and the surrounding areas. This opportunity is suitable to anyone and geographical areas are open. Whether you can help out occasionally or on a more regular basis, we would love to hear from you.
The Brookside Theatre is a non-profit organisation and all events are staged to raise money for the Romford War Memorial Social Club.
